What did Sammy Guevara tell Tony Khan?
The former TNT Champion got people talking about his AEW status when he drew attention to his new social media bio earlier this week. The bio featured no mention of AEW, and many people took it as a sign that he was teasing the end of his run with the company.
The AEW President was asked about the 32-year-old star during the Redemption 2026 media call. He mentioned how Sammy Guevara has done well in ROH in recent time. Khan expressed surprise at the rumors about his future, saying that there has been no change in his status:
As I understand it, when Sammy changed his bio, I don’t think Sammy ever had AEW in the bio in the first place so I don’t think it was any negative change and I got a nice message from Sammy saying he wasn’t trying to do anything bad and he loves AEW, and I believe that.

Tony Khan mentioned that Sammy Guevara has been a good wrestler for them in both AEW and ROH. He expressed the belief that the former Inner Circle star was just messing around Twitter and he did not mean anything by it:
So I don’t think he meant to do anything, and it seemed like people jumped on him for something he didn’t even do. Certainly just messing around with the Twitter bio. It’s pretty amazing how people would jump to conclusions but also jump on him, and in my opinion, in this case, probably unfairly.
The Wrestling Executive also revealed the truth about the reports of Sammy’s wife Tay Melo asking for her release during the call. You can check out what he said here.
