Big E has revealed details of a New Day commercial that never saw the light of the day.
The former WWE Champion recently spoke to Sam Roberts to promote his upcoming book. He talked about things such as his new look, the neck injury that ended his career, his mental health journey and more.
During the talk, the wrestling veteran also told the story of a New Day Booty-O commercial that was never released. Big E first revealed that the ad, shot in a whimsical Saturday morning style, also featured Brodie Lee Jr:
We wanted to shoot a whimsical Saturday morning style cereal commercial. We tried doing something on our phones. We had little Brodie, who is now not so little. At the time, I think Amanda [Huber] was backstage and she let us use Brodie for this thing. I forgot the premise but it was the three of us dressed up as moms.
We Can’t Release This: Big E
Big E explained that he, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods wore makeup and tried to make the whole thing a little off-putting while keeping the Sunday morning cartoon vibe. It ended up being so bizarre and weird, however, that they made the decision to never release the ad:
We had this really terrible lipstick, we wore moomoos and we tried to do something that kind of felt, I don’t want to say creepy, but a little off-putting. But, still kind of in that Saturday morning cartoon thing.
We shot it and then we looked at it. Look, we put out a lot of things that are weird and bizarre. We looked at it and said, we can’t release this. This is weird and bad. It was too much.
The 40-year-old also talked about his WWE title reign and revealed the original plan for the Day 1 PPV before Brock Lesnar beat him for the championship. You can check out his comments on the matter here.
