Bray Wyatt Wanted To Bring This Tag Team To WWE

ByAnutosh BajpaiProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Bray Wyatt wanted to bring in a tag team.

The Hardy Boyz recently had an interview with the Rewind Recap Relive podcast. Among other things, they were asked about the duo of Vincent and Dutch in TNA. The team collectively known as The Righteous recently defeated the wrestling veterans in a Wicked Garden match.

They were asked about the comparisons between The Righteous and The Wyatt Family. Matt Hardy first admitted that he sees similarities between the two teams. The Broken One then revealed that Bray Wyatt was actually interested in bringing the duo to WWE to work with him:

There was a point, too, where Windham, Bray Wyatt, was very interested in bringing The Righteous to WWE with him when he was doing The Fiend stuff. So they had communicated back and forth quite a bit.

Matt Hardy later also reflected on working with Bray Wyatt during his second return to WWE, and noted that it’s hard to believe that the former WWE Champion is not with us anymore:

Myself and Bray, we worked together for a year, and it’s hard to believe he’s not here. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. He should be here with us. Still working his magic, but I’m very proud of The Righteous and what they’ve done and what they’ve accomplished and how much they have grown in the field of pro wrestling.

Bray Wyatt started a feud with ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy in late 2017. The two formed a team after WrestleMania 34, and they went on to have a short reign with the Raw Tag Team Championships. The team was disbanded in late 2018 when Matt took time off to deal with a number of injuries.
