Real Reason Jeff Hardy Was Written Off TNA TV

Jeff Hardy was written off TNA TV because of a neck issue and TNA's upcoming Canadian tapings, and he is expected back at the December tapings in Texas.

Jeff Hardy’s latest TNA exit was in the works for a while.

Hardy was written off TV on this week’s iMPACT!, when Sam Shaw and Joseph Sawyer put a metal trash can over his head and went after it with axes. According to Fightful Select, the absence was planned.

Matt Hardy recently said on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy that Jeff has been dealing with a bulging disc in his neck and may need to take some time off. Fightful was told that surgery isn’t expected right now, but the neck issue did play a part in the timing.

The main reason, though, is geography. TNA is heading to Canada for tapings, and because of Hardy’s past legal issues, the company writes him off whenever it goes north of the border. One TNA source called it a perfect storm that keeps him off TV and gives him time to heal over the coming months.

TNA could still film segments with Hardy that air on its shows, but he won’t be at the Canada events. Those who spoke with Fightful believe he’ll be back for the December tapings in Texas.

Hardy will still make a couple of big public appearances while he’s off the road, including on the Jericho Cruise and at WrestleCade.
