Charlotte Flair Defends WWE In Saudi Arabia
Charlotte Flair then brought up WWE’s events in Saudi Arabia while talking about the company’s global growth. This prompted the question about what Americans think about the treatment of women in the Middle East, and the former Women’s Champion explained that their shows are a step in the right direction for women:
No, it’s awesome to be able to perform. No, for sure. I mean, we still have to wear the bodysuits, but I think that’s just a step forward in the right direction. And for little girls and little boys to see the opportunities that women are given within the ring and see that like, ‘Hey, I could do that.’ It’s so important; it’s bigger than us. It’s bigger than what we do.
The female star has been part of two WWE tours in Saudi Arabia. She wrestled in a tag team match during the 2022 Elimination Chamber PPV and then competed in the Royal Rumble match at this year’s event.
