Chelsea Green is staying in her lane.

The Interim Women’s Champion recently spoke to Complex Graps Wrestling podcast after her SummerSlam victory. She talked about things such as her win being compared to other legends, not knowing the plans for the interim title and more.

During the talk, Chelsea Green was also asked if she thought about changing her character as fan reaction for her started changing. The Canadian star revealed that she actually had a conversation about this with Triple H about a year ago, only to be booked in the most ridiculous way the very next week:

Actually yes, it did. About a year ago, I had a conversation with Hunter. We sat down, and we talked about me going in a more serious direction. Literally the next week, I was put in a comedy spot that lasted like 30 seconds and I was pinned. I’m like, ‘Well, I fear we’re here to stay.’ Him and I never spoke about it again.

I’m Gonna Stay In The Lane: Chelsea Green

The match in question took place during the April 4, 2024 episode of Raw. It was Jade Cargill’s singles debut for the promotion where she defeated the current champion in 32 seconds.

Though Chelsea Green did not let the whole thing discourage her. She took it as a sign that she should stick to her lane, leading to her face turn and the title victory this month:

It’s such a funny conversation to think about because we were like, ‘Yeah, and you know, I’ll stop doing this and I’ll stop doing that, and I’ll look more serious and I’ll be more serious and I’ll do my moves’ and then I literally believe I went, ‘Uhhhh’ And then took the Jaded.

So, you know, I feel like I found my niche, I found my lane and why did I try to get out of the lane? The lane works; it’s my lane. I made the lane. I’m gonna stay in the lane. I invite others to come in and try it. But at the end of the day, I know that what I do, I do it better than anyone else.

Latest reports suggest that WWE can be making a change to Chelsea Green’s championship status due to Rhea Ripley’s recent announcement. You can check out more about it here.
