Chris Jericho says Vince McMahon’s initial dislike of Bryan Danielson was partly rooted in the fact that Danielson is vegan and does not eat steak.
Jericho made the revelation on a recent episode of Talk is Jericho during a discussion about the Raw after WrestleMania, where Danielson’s name came up in conversation.
He didn’t like Bryan because Bryan was a vegan. Classic Vince. There’s other reasons, but I remember that was one of it. ‘Doesn’t eat steak, ugh.'
Danielson went on to become a four-time WWE Champion and to headline WrestleMania twice despite early resistance from McMahon, making his eventual rise one of the most organic in professional wrestling history.
At WrestleMania 30 in 2014, he finally overcame the B+ player nickname to beat Triple H in the opening match and win the World Title over Batista and Randy Orton in a triple threat match in the headliner.
