Paul Heyman: I Don't Think Vince McMahon Cared About Being A Good Man

Paul Heyman told Graham Bensinger he doesn't think Vince McMahon ever considered himself a good man, though he called him a man of great accomplishment.

Paul Heyman shares his thoughts on Vince McMahon.

The former ECW owner worked closely with the retired WWE chairman. Starting with the informal ties between WWE and the original iteration of ECW, Heyman later joined WWE himself in 2001. Since then, he has occupied a number of different roles in the company both behind the scenes and on screen, leading to him developing a unique relationship with the former WWE owner.

The mad genius of wrestling recently spoke about this relationship during an appearance on In Depth with Graham Bensinger. When asked how he views Vince McMahon today, Heyman began by describing him as a “supremely complicated human being of great accomplishment.” The host then asked him if that meant Vince was a good man, and Heyman claimed that McMahon never cared about that:

No, I don’t think Vince ever considered himself a good man. I don’t think he cared about it. I don’t think that was part of his self-judgment. I don’t think he felt he was placed on this planet to be a good man. Do I think he’s a man of great accomplishment? Yes.

Paul Heyman then talked about his ‘childish battles’ with Vince McMahon, noting that the former wrestling executive liked confrontation. When asked which was the worst confrontation they had, Heyman recalled battling with Vince over the control of the revived ECW in 2006, which led to him leaving the company for 6 years.
