A potentially disappointing news for Toni Storm fans.
The former AEW Women’s Champion was abruptly pulled from the road in March this year and written off TV with a mystery attack angle. At the time, it was reported that Storm would be out of action ‘for a long time’ and she was not expected back on TV in 2026.
So fans were pleasantly surprised when mysterious ‘Toni Storm Tapes’ surfaced at the WrestleDream PPV this October, leading people to theorize that her return was imminent.
Toni Storm’s Return Not Imminent
A new report from Fightful Select, however, casts doubt over this. According to the site, Storm has not been at any shows recently, and people in the company do not believe that her in-ring return is happening anytime soon:
Those that we talked to in AEW say that Storm’s in-ring return isn’t imminent, but there could be other elements involving her that get worked in. Toni Storm hasn’t been around at many, if any, shows that we’ve heard about.
AEW President Tony Khan previously confirmed that Storm’s absence forced them to alter plans for the Women’s Division. There is no word on who could be revealed as Toni’s attacker but it’s likely that the tapes will be followed by more hints about the reveal before the former champion finally returns to TV.
