“I don’t want to sit on my b*tt”- AEW veteran eager to return to wrestling

ByNicholas WatsonProfessional Wrestling Journalist

An AEW veteran has openly expressed his desire to get back inside the squared circle after not competing for over two years. He is none other than the WWE legend Paul White (fka Big Show). The former WWE Champion has been part of All Elite Wrestling since 2021, serving as a commentator and wrestling on a few occasions.

In a recent interview on the Face of the Franchize, Paul White reflected on his hiatus from in-ring competition and revealed that he had been working toward making a return.

We haven’t been in the ring, but we’ve been conditioning and training, pushing sleds and pulling sleds, doing all this stuff to get everything working again. I’ve had 11 surgeries in seven years, so a lot of different stabilizer muscles, especially on my left hip, got cut so many times. I’m trying to rebuild that mind muscle connection.

At the same time, he openly admitted that he wanted to do more wrestling and other projects like films and television, and not just speak about his greatness but rather prove it.

There’s a lot of balance and things I’m working on, and getting that stuff better so I can get in the ring and play. I haven’t gone through all this just to look pretty when I’m older, I have a plan. I have stuff I want to do. I want to do more wrestling, do more films and TV. I want to do stuff, I don’t want to sit on my b*tt and talk about how great I am. Let’s get going.

Paul White‘s last AEW televised appearance took place at the Full Gear 2025 PPV, where he called a match as part of the commentary desk. With the former Big Show eager to step back inside the ring, it will be interesting to see when it happens.
