Penta came up short in dethroning Roman Reigns and was full of emotion after their title match.
The masked luchador squared off against The OTC for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was the main event of the September 14 episode of RAW in Mexico City. The two superstars went to war against each other, and the end result saw Reigns retain his title over Penta.
Following the match, Penta appeared in a video posted by WWE on X. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion thanked Reigns for giving him a great match. Despite being defeated, he was still determined to become a top WWE star and promised to win the World Heavyweight Championship one day.

Penta survived an array of top luchadors from AAA, SmackDown, and RAW in a No.1 contender’s tournament. In fact, he defeated his own brother, Rey Fenix, in the finals to secure his title opportunity against Roman Reigns.
Despite losing the match, Penta displayed a highly enthralling in-ring performance and proved that he was worthy of carrying a World title in the future. With his first World title match behind him, it will be interesting to see what is next for Penta moving forward.
