Jim Ross will not be calling AEW All Out this weekend.
Ross had hoped to make the trip to Chicago for Saturday’s pay-per-view. Conrad Thompson confirmed on this week’s Grilling JR that it is not happening, telling his co-host he would be watching from home.
The main event this weekend, it’s going to be Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley. I wish you were going to be under the headsets for this call. As I understand it, you’re going to be watching this one from home like I am.
Ross, 74, has been recovering well from brain surgery in August. A fall left him with a couple of broken toes, and the limited mobility is what is keeping him off the trip. He also said last week that his dermatologist ordered biopsies on several moles.
He still had plenty to say about the card. Ross expects the Ospreay and Moxley main event to be dramatic and athletic, and he praised the booking of the show.
I’m proud of the team. You know, Chicago is such a great city. Nobody surpasses AEW in effort on these big events, nobody.
All Out runs from a sold-out Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Ross joins the commentary team for select matches at AEW pay-per-views. His next chance to return is WrestleDream in Orlando on October 17.
