The concept comes with a genuinely unusual wrinkle: a John Cena Classic Championship decided in part by fan vote, meaning a competitor could lose in the ring and still be crowned. Cena has said he wants whoever wins it to keep the title permanently and never defend it.
Reports peg the event for the final months of 2026, with a December date making sense as it would fall on the one-year anniversary of Cena’s retirement match against Gunther. No official date, venue, or format has been confirmed.
