Kenny Omega is champion again.
The Cleaner played for big stakes when he challenged MJF for the AEW World Heavyweight Title at the Dynamite Beach Break special. The wrestling veteran had agreed to never challenge for the title again if he lost the bout.
It appeared that Omega might actually lose the fight when MJF tried to introduce the Dynamite Diamond Ring towards the ending of this main event match. A timely interference from Will Ospreay and some inspiration from Hulk Hogan finally led to Omega securing his first singles victory over the Salt of the Earth after two previous losses.
The new champion remained in the ring after the show went off air to talk about his victory. Kenny Omega discussed the various people who have supported him in his pro wrestling journey, gave a shout-out to MJF for his title reign, and signed off with his signature gesture:
The title win already sets up another dream match for Kenny Omega. As the winner of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, Will Ospreay will be challenging him for the title at the All In PPV on August 30.
