Mercedes Mone provides a health update.
The AEW Women’s World Champion appeared on the post-WrestleDream media scrum after successfully defending her title against Thekla at the PPV. During her appearance, Tony Khan prompted her to talk about the suffering she had to go through to return to the ring for the PAC tribute show after breaking her nose during her All In match.
Mone claimed that All In was one of the greatest moments of her career, while also confirming that her nose has not healed yet:
It was definitely one of the hardest-fought battles I’ve ever had and one of my greatest matches and greatest moments of my whole career. I love that moment at All In in Wembley. Just a full circle moment for me as well.
But yeah, I’m one month and a half post-surgery on my nose. It’s still very much broken, and I’m pushing through every single week, but I love what I do. I love defending my Women’s Championship, and I’m here to be the best. So just having a broken nose, it’s not gonna faze me. It’s not gonna stop me from defending this. This is my destiny, so I’m ready to give everything I have for it.
Mercedes Mone suffered a broken nose during the opening stretch of her match with Willow Nightingale at All In. She still finished the bout, defeating Willow to become the new Women’s World Champion. Mone returned to the ring a month later for the PAC tribute episode of Dynamite on September 30 and has wrestled several matches since then.
