Multiple WWE Stars Unhappy With Ryan Garcia Segment

Fans were not the only ones unhappy about Ryan Garcia turning up on Monday Night RAW.

According to Fightful Select, the resistance ran into the locker room. The outlet describes

“There were a number of wrestlers internally who wanted nothing to do with Ryan Garcia on WWE Raw.”

Garcia crashed Joe Hendry and Danhausen’s in-ring concert on the July 27 RAW at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, cracking a guitar across Hendry’s back and posing with Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh once The Judgment Day had cleared the ring. SEScoops covered the fan reaction to the segment here.

The internal read was not much warmer. WrestleVotes Radio, also on Fightful Select, reported that the concert segment missed the mark and that Garcia’s involvement was viewed as underwhelming and unnecessary given his recent controversies. The same report said several people in WWE creative are under pressure coming out of the show, which carried extra weight internally because Netflix executives were in the building.

The objections trace to July 2024, when the WBC expelled Garcia over racist and anti-Muslim remarks he made on a livestream. He apologized, said he was entering rehab for substance abuse, and the WBC lifted the ban in November 2025. He has since taken the WBC welterweight title and defends it against Conor Benn on September 12.

Not everyone was cold on it. Dominik Mysterio has spoken positively about the experience of working with Garcia.

WWE has not commented publicly. There is no word on whether Garcia sticks around on television past SummerSlam weekend.
