Danhausen is getting a big-stage payoff at SummerSlam.
Weeks of bickering and interference between Danhausen and Dominik Mysterio will finally come to a head, with the two set to meet in a singles match at the event. Commentary announced the bout on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
The very cursed one has been a thorn in “Dirty Dom’s” side for months. Their feud dates back to the March 2 Raw, when Danhausen made Mysterio the first WWE star he ever cursed, and it’s only escalated since. Danhausen picked up a win over JD McDonagh, Mysterio’s Judgment Day ally, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and he cost Mysterio in a recent Intercontinental Championship No. 1 contender’s gauntlet match by helping Je’Von Evans eliminate him.
For Danhausen, one of the most beloved cult acts in modern wrestling, a featured SummerSlam match is a milestone moment. The New York crowd has adopted him in a big way, even crediting him with “uncursing” the Knicks during their run to the NBA title.
Mysterio, meanwhile, is looking to bounce back. The AAA Mega Champion lost the Intercontinental Title to Penta back in March and has been chasing a way back into the gold picture ever since. Now he’ll have to deal with a curse first.
SummerSlam takes place August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, streaming on the ESPN App in the U.S. and Netflix internationally.
