NXT Heatwave gets an explosive main event.
Tonight’s episode of the development show saw General Manager Robert Stone announcing a triple threat main event for the upcoming special, with Tony D’Angelo defending his NXT title against both Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller.
This came after the #1 contender match between Montana and Waller on the August 11 episode of the show ended in No Contest when a debuting Zilla Fatu crashed the bout.
Later in the night, Fatu officially signed his NXT contract. Stone revealed during this segment that the contract called for Zilla’s first match to be a title bout so he was also added to the Heatwave main event.
