A new report reveals that a Pennsylvania man was a victim of a deception scheme involving a fake WWE Superstar.
According to WPXI, a 64-year-old man lost tens of thousands of dollars after being scammed by an unknown person or persons impersonating former WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. The crime, reportedly happening in the month of March, resulted in the man losing $42,700.
A public information officer indicated that the victim refused to cooperate with Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning’s investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made either.

Ripley Has Been Off WWE TV For Months
The real Rhea Ripley is currently sidelined from in-ring action, having undergone surgery for a torn meniscus last month.
“Mami” last wrestled at the June 3 WWE live event in Portugal, where she, Tiffany Stratton, and Charlotte Flair picked up a six-woman tag team victory. Shortly after, WWE revealed that Ripley would be unable to defend the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam, meaning an interim champion would be crowned instead.
Chelsea Green went on to ascend the ladder and retrieve the interim title at WWE’s “Biggest Party of the Summer.” Per WWE.com, Green is now the official WWE Women’s Champion, with Ripley’s reign reflected as ending on August 2.
Ripley is expected to be out of action for several more months. Green, in the meantime, secured her first successful title defense by defeating Nia Jax on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
