WrestleVotes reports for Fightful Select that following Penta’s World Heavyweight Title challenge against Roman Reigns on Raw, several people in WWE believe he deserves to stay near the top of the card. The internal feeling is that Penta has established himself as a legitimate main event player.
The match went more than 22 minutes in Mexico City, with the crowd firmly behind the challenger. Reigns retained after a Superman punch and a spear.
A rematch is not currently planned. Given the reaction in the building and behind the scenes, though, WWE already views it as a match it can return to whenever it wants. One source believes it could headline a premium live event down the line.
Penta earned the shot by beating his brother Rey Fenix in an eight-man tournament final.
