Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson didn’t hold back on how hard the news of PAC’s death hit him, posting an emotional video message on Instagram sending love and condolences to the Satterley family, Tony Khan, and everyone across AEW and WWE who knew him.
AEW announced Sunday night that Benjamin Satterley, known in WWE as Neville and more recently as PAC in AEW, had passed away at 40. Satterley had wrestled Andrade in a National Championship match at AEW All Out just one night earlier before appearing later in the show during the Jon Moxley-Will Ospreay main event.
In his message, Johnson introduced Satterley to fans outside the wrestling world, explaining who he was and noting they’d crossed paths and shaken hands a few times over the years. He reflected on how, despite wrestling’s rivalries and global reach, spanning WWE, AEW, and promotions across Asia, Latin America, and Europe, performers across the business remain part of the same tight-knit community bound by a shared love of the craft.
He said losing someone that young and talented cuts especially deep, particularly when a life is cut short before it’s fully lived.
Man, it hurts my heart to do this. I want to send out into the universe and to the Satterley family, my love and my condolences, my support, my light, my mana as you are enduring the loss of your loved one, Benjamin Satterley.
For those who are watching this, who don’t know who Benjamin Satterley is, he was a professional wrestler known in the WWE as Neville. Had met him a few times, shook his hand and most recently known as PAC in AEW, All Elite Wrestling. And he passed away sadly young, too young, I believe he was 40, and just so sorry to hear this news.”
“And we’re a little crazy and that’s okay, but when we lose one of our own, it hurts. And when they’re young and so insanely talented, it really, it really f**king hurts. And especially when a life is robbed and you don’t get that opportunity to live a full life.
Johnson directly addressed Khan and the AEW locker room, making clear the message was about wrestlers grieving a fellow wrestler rather than any company rivalry, and extended the same sentiment to his WWE colleagues who knew Satterley well.
So to my friend, Tony Khan, I’m so sorry for your loss, my friend. QT and the entire locker, all the locker rooms, the men and women of AEW, I’m so sorry for your loss. And to those, of course, my colleagues in WWE who knew him well, I’m so sorry. So sorry all around.
