Tony Khan has revealed a project he was working on with Andy Williams.
The Butcher had been part of the AEW roster since 2019, and he had been regularly featured on TV until 2025. The wrestling star had not been removed from the company’s roster page even after his contract expired in June this year.
During the All Out media call this week, the AEW President discussed the passing of the wrestling star. Tony Khan revealed that the company had not completely severed ties with The Butcher even after his contract ended, and they actually had a meeting just last month to discuss how the two parties could continue collaborating:
Andy was very interested in working in the office and he had really good ideas, so, I had set up a meeting with Andy and the AEW official last month to talk about his thoughts on ways he could contribute to promoting,
And Andy had ideas that he could do music shows in collaboration with AEW, and build some events outside of the wrestling show that would get eyeballs on the wrestling show and maybe bring some people from the music community into wrestling. That is one of his ideas.

Andy Williams was one of the founding members of metalcore band Every Time I Die and had been with the band throughout their 24-year tenure before the group announced their breakup in 2022. He then formed a new band called Atomic Rule with bassist Travis Bennington.
Tony Khan claimed that the music project was something they were actively working on before his passing as he wanted Williams to continue being part of his company:
Andy came in last month to talk about it and it was something we were still actively working on and unfortunately, at the time of his passing, it was still something that was in progress, and Andy contributed in many different ways to AEW and he really loved the company, loved the wrestling and I wanted Andy to stay a part of it.
Andy Williams passed away at the age of 48 earlier this month on September 5, 2026, after collapsing following a match at an Enjoy Wrestling show in Millvale, Pennsylvania.
