WWE Discussed LA Knight Dethroning Roman Reigns For World Title

LA Knight’s pursuit of Roman Reigns may have more behind it than just another marquee match. According to a new report, WWE has actually kicked around the idea of Knight winning the title outright.

Discussing the topic during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that a shock Knight win over Reigns was one of the ideas floated internally.

One version of that idea reportedly ties the loss to Solo Sikoa somehow being involved, using the defeat as the catalyst to finally pull Reigns into the larger WarGames storyline he’s been avoiding.

The angle would mark a real shift for Reigns’ current character, who has spent recent weeks positioning himself above the other stars’ conflicts, focused only on his own status as Tribal Chief. Losing the title because of Sikoa’s interference would instantly make WarGames personal for him instead of something he can keep sidestepping.

Self Made Pro was careful to note this remains just an idea that’s been discussed rather than a locked-in plan, but added that if WWE does decide to pull off a surprise title change, Knight would be the most likely candidate to benefit.

The report lands right as Knight has already forced his way into Reigns’ business on screen. After Reigns retained against Penta on the September 14 Raw in Mexico City, Knight attacked him once the show went off air, sending Reigns retreating up the ramp.

Reigns responded with a pointed threat and challenged Knight to try to take the title at Money in the Bank, a match WWE has since made official for October 10 in New Orleans.
