WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella recently said that she has a finish line in mind for her in-ring career and plans to spend her remaining time doing things her way.
On the July 27 episode of The Nikki & Brie Show, she said she expects to conclude her wrestling run around December 2027 and that she is done playing it safe on the way out.
Nikki made the comments alongside her sister Brie. She framed the roughly year-and-a-half runway as a chance to close out her career with no regrets, even if that means challenging creative decisions along the way.
You know, I’m coming close to the end. Like, and I know I’ve talked about this, but I am. Like, and I’m very great with that. Like, you know, year and a half, like whatever it is, the end of 2027,” Bella said.
Done Being The “Good Girl” Backstage
According to Nikki, knowing the clock is winding down has reshaped how she approaches the job. She said she no longer wants to hold back her own instincts just to keep everyone happy.
I really just want to finish this out exactly how I want it. I want, you know, if I got to break rules, I’m going to break rules. But I want to end it how I see it, so I don’t look back and go, ‘What if?'” she said.
She pushed the point further when talking about creative input.
Creatively, if I feel a certain way, I want to do it. I don’t want to sit there and go, ‘Oh, but follow the rules and be a good girl.’ Like, I want to challenge myself. I want to fight for myself. I want to stick up for what I believe in,” Nikki Bella said.
What She Wants To Leave Behind
Nikki said this final stretch is about more than adding a few matches to the résumé. She wants strong in-ring work, strong creative, and a continued push for women’s wrestling that lifts others up in the process.
I also want to be super impressive. And I want to produce great stuff as far as matches, but also creative. And I want to continue to be a part of great changes for women’s wrestling and constantly making women’s wrestling feel important and special,” she said, adding that she wants the run to be “fun. Fun. Fun. All fun. Because that’s what life’s about.
