WWE Radio is changing addresses on SiriusXM. Starting October 1, the 24/7 WWE channel moves from Channel 156 to Channel 93, a little more than two months after it launched.
WWE announced the switch on X Friday night, pitching the channel as “your 24/7 audio home for WWE, with Superstar hosts, exclusive talk, and play-by-play of WWE’s biggest events.” SiriusXM’s Busted Open account reposted the announcement. Neither company gave a reason for the move.
WWE Radio Lands In A Busier Neighborhood
The new slot puts WWE Radio in very different company. SiriusXM reshuffled its lineup on September 1, clearing its comedy channels out of the 90s to make room for local sports talk stations, according to RadioInsight.
Channels 94 through 99 now carry WFAN New York, KSPN Los Angeles, WSCR Chicago, WEEI Boston, WIP Philadelphia and KRLD-FM Dallas. Channel 93, formerly Netflix Is A Joke Radio, was set aside for limited-run music channels in that shuffle.
Channel 156 went the other way. After the same revamp, it sits among a cluster of Canadian channels, with Top of the Country on 155 and Attitude Franco on 157.
What Moves With It
WWE Radio launched on July 27, when SiriusXM and WWE took over Channel 156, the former home of Pro Wrestling Nation 24/7 and Busted Open. The channel carries live play-by-play of WWE’s Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series, plus select audio simulcasts of WWE’s weekly TV.
Its first live event broadcast was SummerSlam weekend in Minneapolis, with Vic Joseph and Booker T on the call. Joseph later reacted to a blind fan who credited the WWE Radio call with making SummerSlam accessible for the first time since 2008.
Busted Open still anchors the lineup, with Dave LaGreca, Bully Ray, Mark Henry and Nic Nemeth on weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon ET. Notsam Wrestling Live with Sam Roberts, Cheap Heat Live with Peter Rosenberg, The Hart Beat with Natalya and Off the Ropes round out the daily WWE Radio schedule, and WWE podcasts including Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Want to Talk About? air every day at 4 p.m. ET.
The move also sends Busted Open back to a familiar number. Sports Illustrated reported in 2017 that the show was airing on SiriusXM’s RUSH channel at 93, before it later moved to Channel 156 under the Fight Nation banner.
