The Lucha Brothers reunion could happen soon in WWE and they are expected to be back as a tag team.
According to a new backstage report, WWE is expected to bring the brothers back together as a tag team once their current runs as singles competitors play out.
Self Made Pro shared the information during the August 11 edition of Self Made Sessions, saying he’s been told to expect a Lucha Brothers reunion once everything currently in motion wraps up.
I was told to expect a Lucha Brothers reunion once all of this is said and done.
WWE has conveniently set up a road that could get them there. Penta defeated Laredo Kid on the August 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, advancing further in the ongoing AAA tournament, with the eventual winner earning a shot at Roman Reigns’ WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 Raw in Mexico City.
Fenix is also entered in that same tournament, opening the door for the brothers to potentially face off against each other before reuniting on the same side.
Self Made Pro was careful to note that what comes next is his own prediction rather than something he was directly told, but he laid out one clean path WWE could take: Penta beats Fenix in the tournament finals, the two share an embrace, Penta then challenges Roman Reigns in what would be a compelling Mexico City main event, comes up short, and the brothers finally reunite as a tag team in the aftermath.
So what I would expect personally is Penta beats Fenix in the finals. They hug. Penta faces Roman. That’s a cool match in Mexico. He ultimately loses. The Lucha Brothers embrace and reunite as a tag team.
Whether WWE follows that exact sequence remains to be seen, but the reunion itself is reportedly the expected outcome. It would also deliver on something Penta and Fenix have been teasing for months.
With both brothers now chasing Roman Reigns through the same tournament, a reunion may finally be waiting on the other side.
