Adam Copeland has officially returned to AEW programming and has his sights on championship gold. During AEW Worlds End, Copeland made a dramatic comeback in the closing moments, teaming with FTR to fend off the Death Riders. This marks his first appearance since May, when he suffered a tibia fracture at Double or Nothing.
At the post-Worlds End media scrum, the WWE Hall of Famer discussed his ambitions now that he’s back in action.
“If you can think of a goal, that’s what we’re going after. I think they [FTR] should be tag team champions. I think we should win the Trios Championship. I’m going after the World Heavyweight Championship.”
Copeland, who debuted in AEW last year at WrestleDream, shared that his initial focus was on understanding the “lay of the land.” With that phase behind him, the 11-time WWE World Champion is determined to make a lasting impact and “show everybody exactly who I am.”
“My plan is to go after Jon Moxley in a match that you’ve never seen before between two guys who are at the top of their field.”
Moxley is currently in his record-setting fourth reign as AEW World Champion, having captured the title from Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Adam Copeland and his pursuit of AEW Championship gold.
