WWE RAW Viewership Suffers Big Drop For Clash Of Champions Go-Home Show

Viewership is in.

Monday’s edition of WWE RAW from New York City, NY at Madison Square Garden averaged 2.130 million viewers, which is down from 2.507 million the previous week.

This was the go-home show for the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event. Here is the hourly viewership breakdown, courtesy of ShowbuzzDaily:

  • Hour 1: 2.362 million – Last Week: 2.638
  • Hour 2: 2.183 million – Last Week: 2.557
  • Hour 3: 1.845 million – Last Week: 2.326

The episode was expected to drop in viewership due to the competition that it faced.

The biggest competition that WWE RAW faced came in the way of two NFL regular-season games that aired on ESPN. New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans did 13.078 million viewers and Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders pulled in 10.619.

Last year’s Monday Night Football doubleheader did 10.3 million viewers for Jets vs. Lions and 9.6 for Rams vs. Raiders on ESPN.

For comparison, the same episode last year drew 2.818 million viewers for hour one, 2.801 in the second hour, and 2.601 in the third hour.

Some of the matches that took place include Cedric Alexander vs. United States Champion AJ Styles, Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley & Sasha Banks, Rey Mysterio vs. Gran Metalik, Baron Corbin vs. Ricochet vs. Samoa Joe, Natalya vs. Lacey Evans, and a ten man tag team match that ended up as the headliner.

The show also featured an appearance by WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin as he moderated a contract signing between Universal Champion Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

WWE will attempt to maintain its viewership for RAW next week. In case you missed the show, you can check out the five takeaways here.
