Candy Cartwright Drops Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Matt Riddle

Samantha Tavel, better known as Candy Cartwright, has decided to drop her sexual assault lawsuit against Matt Riddle.

TMZ reported today that they’ve obtained court documents that show Tavel filed for a dismissal on Monday, but it’s unclear if the two sides reached a monetary settlement.

Tavel’s attorney, John Chwarzynski, did issue a statement to TMZ by stating, “The parties have put this in their past and are focused on the future.” As of this writing, Riddle’s attorney has not issued a comment.

Tavel first filed the lawsuit last October against Riddle, WWE, EVOLVE Wrestling, and Gabe Sapolsky where she was looking to get 10 million dollars from each defendant.

This past March, WWE, and Sapolsky were dismissed from the lawsuit while Riddle’s attempt to dismiss was denied. Tavel alleged that Riddle began sexually assaulting her in April 2017 while they were in the parking lot after an EVOLVE event.  She also alleged Riddle bragged about this to former EVOLVE owner Gabe Sapolsky.

Although Riddle denied the allegations, he did confirm an affair with Cartwright. Throughout the legal process, WWE never took Riddle off TV. He will take part in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday at WWE Money in the Bank.
