Kofi Kingston Closing In On Record

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champion Kofi Kingston is closing in on a WWE record, according to a user on Reddit. The post stated that Kingston is close to becoming the longest-reigning tag team champion in WWE history as that record is currently held by Billy Gunn, who held it at 953 days while Kingston is 946 days. Thus, if The New Day can hold onto the titles over the course of a week, then he’ll surpass the record by next week.

The New Day made their most recent title defense over Rusev Day (Rusev & Aiden English) at Sunday’s (September 16, 2018) Hell in a Cell pre-show in San Antonio, Texas at the AT&T Center on the WWE Network.
