WWE SmackDown FOX Premiere Will Be 20th Anniversary Special

Goldberg, Undertaker & Hulk Hogan are just some of the names advertised

The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network will be a 20th Anniversary special. The October 4th show takes place from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.

WWE touted that stars past and present will be on hand to celebrate the occasion. The release also featured comments by Vince McMahon.

“SmackDown has been delivering action-packed, family-friendly programming for two decades, and we look forward to entertaining generations to come as we begin this next chapter on FOX,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman & CEO.

WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting are advertised to appear. 

Tickets will be available starting this Friday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. PT via the STAPLES Center box office, AXS.com or by calling 1-888-929-7849.

WWE has been hyping the move to FOX as a game-changer due to the exposure that they will get as FOX is in more homes than the USA Network. FOX is currently in 35% more homes than USA Network.

WWE is expected to load up this show with several top names and matches that will be announced in the coming months as the show gets closer.
