AEW Bringing ‘Christmas Collision’ & ‘Dynamite On 34th Street’ To NYC

0

AEW will be delivering some festive action next month with a pair of shows from the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom. AEW will kick-off with the December 21, edition of AEW Collision, dubbed ‘Christmas Collision‘. On December 25, AEW will host its ‘Dynamite on 34th Street,’ a fun nod to the beloved film about a girl who doesn’t believe in Santa Claus.

The two shows will mark AEW’s debut in the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, which hosted several ECW events, including the first two One Night Stand pay-per-views from 2005 to 2006. News of the two shows come after AEW filed trademarks for Christmas Collision and Dynamite on 34th Street earlier this month.

At this time, no matches have been confirmed for either show though the posters above promise some of the very top names on the All-Elite roster. It’s also not been confirmed if the Dynamite show will be pre-taped, allowing the roster Christmas Day to spend with families and loved ones. The fact that both shows are being filmed from the Hammerstein Ballroom has led many to believe Dynamite will be filmed on the same day as the live Collision.

2024 has been a huge year for AEW, with the arrival of Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and others. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on AEW and its festive shows set to take place next month.

Becky Lynch: Vince McMahon Never ‘Got’ the Four Horsewomen

0

Becky Lynch may be a part of the most iconic quartet of women in wrestling history, but there’s a reason fans never saw a fully-fledged faction. Lynch was part of the ‘Four Horsewomen’ of WWE, a group acknowledged by WWE of consisting of four of the company’s most talented women at a time when the company was improving its handling of female talent. In addition to Lynch, the group includes Bayley, Charlotte Flair, and Sasha Banks (now AEW’s Mercedes Mone.)

Though members of the group often teamed and often feuded, fans never saw the Four Horsewomen work together as a faction. Speaking at Vulture Festival, Lynch shared that the idea was considered, but that WWE missed its window of opportunity.

“It was always something bubbling under the surface, one of those ‘break in case of emergency’ ideas. But sometimes, when you leave something for too long, it just fades.”

Lynch chalked up WWE never committing to a Four Horsewomen faction to the idea of the group never being fully established on TV, and instead only alluded to. It didn’t help that Vince McMahon was the ultimate decider at the time as to what made it to TV and was hardly on board with the group.

“I don’t think Vince ever really got it. He didn’t understand. He’d say, ‘What is this Four Horsewomen thing? They’ve never even had a match together.'”

Notable Highlights

Lynch had plenty to say during her time at Vulture Festival and discussed a variety of topics. They include:

  • She and Charlotte Flair are “fine” though they’re not calling each other every night to hang out. Lynch chalked up the real-life issues that stemmed between the two on just how much love the pair once had for each other.
  • Lynch was asked if Vince McMahon’s resignation from WWE and TKO Holdings affected her memoir. She said that the book was pretty-much finished when he stepped down and it would’ve been hard to edit and navigate the book without referencing her former boss.

Watch: Brody King Knocks Out Broadcast Feed During Dynamite Main Event

0

Brody King knocked out more than just his opponent in the main event of the November 27 Dynamite from Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

The House of Black member faced Darby Allin in a Continental Classic gold league match. The bout was the main event of the night and the two stars took each other to the limit with their unique offence.

One such move saw King delivering the cannonball to Allin on a barricade at the hardcam side. The move didn’t go as planned however and Brody apparently ended up hitting some equipment causing both the camera and commentary feed to be taken out for a moment:

The ending of the bout saw Darby delivering a Coffin Drop to the heavyweight star. As he went for a second one, however, King countered. He grabbed the former TNT Champion on his way down and converted it into a sleeper hold.

Brody King then delivered a pile driver to his opponent to pick up a victory and three points in the ongoing Continental Classic tournament. Claudio Castagnoli came out after the bell and he had a stare down with Brody as the show went off air.

This wasn’t the only C2 match that took place tonight. Shelton Benjamin defeated Mark Briscoe in a blue league match to open the show while Claudio took out Ricochet in a gold league match later in the night.

Mariah May vs. Mina Shirakawa Set for Winter is Coming

0

AEW has confirmed that Mariah May will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa at Winter is Coming 2024. The event will take place on December 11 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, airing live on TBS.

This match comes with added tension after Mina Shirakawa’s recent attack on Mariah May at Full Gear, where Shirakawa ambushed the champion. May now looks to settle the score while retaining her title, but Shirakawa’s calculated aggression positions her as a dangerous challenger.

As one of AEW’s signature Dynamite specials, Winter is Coming has consistently delivered significant matches, and this year’s championship bout continues that tradition. Further announcements about the event are expected as the date approaches.

New Rules For How AEW Continental Classic Winner Will Be Crowned

0

AEW is on the road to crown the next Continental Classic winner, but how the next AEW Continental Champion will be crowned has changed. On the November 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that the winner will be crowned at AEW Worlds End, just like last year’s tournament.

Unlike last year though, the semi-finals will also take place at AEW Worlds End, meaning three Continental Classic matches at the pay-per-view. In addition to this change, the tournament will see the winner of the Gold League will face the runner-up of the Blue League, and the winner of the Blue League will face the runner-up of the Gold League. Last year, it was the winners and runners-up of the same league who faced each other to earn a spot in the finals.

This week’s Dynamite saw the tournament get underway, with Shelton Benjamin defeating Mark Briscoe in the Blue League to earn three points. Claudio Castagnoli and Brody King both earned three points in the Gold League with wins over Ricochet and Darby Allin respectively.

The winner of this year’s AEW Continental Classic will be crowned the Continental Champion, a title currently held by Kazuchika Okada. The Elite member was automatically selected for the tournament, where the odds aren’t in his favor. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from the AEW Continental Classic, as fans are in for some exciting action in this round-robin tournament.

Kamille Ends Alliance With Mercedes Mone On Dynamite

0

Kamille has finally ended her partnership with Mercedes Mone.

AEW has been teasing increased tensions between the two female stars over the past few weeks. The final straw for their partnership came at Full Gear this past Saturday when Mone chewed her bodyguard out and told her to stay in the back for her TBS title defence against Kris Statlander.

The current champion then came out to gloat about her win over Statlander on the November 27 Dynamite. She proceeded to call out Kamille again saying that she can’t do anything right.

Before The CEO could fire the former NWA women’s champion, however, she snatched the mic from her. Kamille said that Mercedes can’t fire her because she quits:

The former NWA star officially made her AEW debut back in July. She attacked Britt Baker on her debut and formed the alliance with the current TBS Champion.

A lot of fans have been complaining since then that Kamille is miscast in her role as a bodyguard and considering her previous achievements, she deserves to be featured on TV as a singles star.

We’re going to have to see if this is the end of the former champion’s storyline with Mone or if she’ll go after the title held by the wrestling veteran next.

John Cena Featured On New WWE Elimination Chamber Promotional Material

0

Earlier this month, WWE confirmed that the 2025 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event (PLE) will take place at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Among the highlights of the event will be the presence of one of WWE’s biggest legends, John Cena, as part of his farewell tour.

Cena, who recently announced his retirement plans for 2025, has outlined a packed schedule leading up to his official sendoff. His appearances include the debut episode of Raw on Netflix in January, the Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania 41. In addition, Cena plans to work over 30 WWE dates, ensuring fans across the globe get the chance to say goodbye to the 16-time World Champion as he prepares to hang up his iconic jorts.

Promotional material for the Toronto event prominently features Cena, emphasizing the significance of his last appearance in the city. An email announcement sent to fans stated:

“Elimination Chamber is headed to Rogers Centre in Toronto on Saturday, March 1, 2025! This marks the second consecutive year that Elimination Chamber will be held in an international stadium, following this year’s record-setting event at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia. Be there live to witness John Cena’s last time ever in Toronto.”

On a parallel note, Cena’s Hollywood endeavors continue to thrive. Filming for James Gunn’s “Peacemaker” Season 2 wrapped up last week, with the series slated for a 2025 premiere on HBO Max. Cena first brought the character to life in 2021’s The Suicide Squad, further cementing his status as a versatile entertainer across both wrestling and film.

TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys Re-Sign With Promotion

0

Fans can expect to see plenty more of Matt and Jeff Hardy in TNA Wrestling as the legendary duo has re-signed with the promotion. News of the pair’s new deals with TNA was broken by SI, who spoke with Matt about this latest run with the company.

“It’s like we turned back time. Everything’s clicking. We’re very happy with what we’re doing there, and we want to do what we can to help build TNA back into one of the top brands in pro wrestling.”

Re-signing The Hardys is certainly a boon for TNA, which relaunched in January of this year to much fanfare after years as Impact Wrestling. Since then, TNA has maintained momentum thanks to popular talents including World Champions Nic Nemeth, Jordynne Grace, and Joe Hendry, as well as its popular partnership with WWE NXT.

Matt and Jeff both returned to TNA after AEW runs many fans believed fell short of what could’ve been for one of wrestling’s most popular tag-teams. The Hardys captured the TNA World Tag Team Championships at Bound for Glory in October, ending the 43-day reign of The System (Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards.)

As for how long The Hardys’ time with the gold, that remains to be seen, but fans can expect plenty more of the brothers in the iMPACT Zone. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Matt and Jeff Hardy and their plans as part of the TNA roster.

WWE Stock Hits All-Time High As TKO Expands Portfolio

0

WWE’s stock has demonstrated remarkable growth, mirroring the company’s dynamic in-ring performances. Trading under TKO Group Holdings since its merger with UFC, WWE’s stock reached an all-time high of $139.15 per share this week, marking a 77.23% increase over the past year.

This surge underscores WWE’s robust momentum in both its entertainment offerings and corporate strategies. Over the past month, TKO stock delivered a 19.11% price return and a 27.71% return over six months.

Analyst Perspectives

The stock’s ascent has garnered positive attention from financial analysts. Firms such as Citi, Guggenheim, and Goldman Sachs have issued ‘Buy’ ratings for TKO, reflecting confidence in the company’s long-term financial prospects.

Conversely, Benchmark Capital downgraded TKO shares from ‘Buy’ to ‘Hold,’ citing concerns over potential dilution of growth due to recent acquisitions and corporate activities.

Strategic Developments

This financial milestone coincides with WWE’s strategic expansion into streaming platforms. Starting January 2025, WWE’s flagship program, Monday Night Raw, will transition to Netflix as part of a 10-year deal valued at over $5 billion.

Additionally, TKO Group Holdings secured a $2.75 billion term loan to fund acquisitions, including Professional Bull Riders (PBR), On Location, and IMG. These additions aim to diversify TKO’s portfolio and enhance its revenue streams.

On the legal front, TKO agreed to a $375 million settlement in an antitrust lawsuit filed by UFC fighters. The lawsuit alleged that the UFC restricted fighters’ pay and leveraged its dominant market position to disadvantage other promotions.

WWE has certainly been on a role as of late, with massive deals including SmackDown’s move to the USA Network and WWE NXT’s arrival on The CW.

GCW Promoter Brett Lauderdale Opens Up About Ricky Starks Situation

0

Brett Lauderdale says he doesn’t know why Ricky Starks was pulled from GCW shows.

The AEW star was announced for several upcoming GCW events after his surprise appearance at the Dream On show on November 23. The former FTW champion, however, was pulled from the announced dates only days after by the Elite promotion. This was a curious development as Starks’ other indie appearances were not canceled.

Lauderdale addressed these turn of events on the most recent episode of Game Changer Weekly. He explained that contracted talents reach out to him if they want to get booked. Brett noted that wrestlers are responsible for getting clearance from their employers themselves. He said that he has no direct line of communication with AEW so he can’t be sure why Starks was pulled:

“I found out about this the same time as everybody else did, for the most part. I’ve stated this many times before and it’s no secret. I don’t really have a line of communication with AEW. I’ve never talked to Tony Khan on the phone or via text in my entire life. They don’t talk to me. I’m not trying to say that in a negative context, but I guess we’ve never really had to talk.”

It’s Part of The Deal: Brett Lauderdale

The indie promotion has featured many AEW talents on their shows over the years including top names such as Jon Moxley. Brett Lauderdale claimed that because of the lack of communication, he doesn’t know if the freeze applies just to Starks or other talents as well.

Speaking about all the different rumors that have been floating around, Lauderdale noted that he’s heard things too. Though he can’t say for sure if they’re true as reports have been wrong about the AEW-GCW relationship in the past. Brett said that he’s always thought the two companies to be on the same side, and admitted that it doesn’t feel great to have an announced talent be pulled like that:

“I would love to know if there’s something to be done or something we can be doing. We got to the point where this stuff was agreed upon, announced, and fans were looking forward to this. To promote something and have to pull it back is not ideal. At the same time, and I’ve said this many times, when you do book television or contracted talent, you do it with the understanding this could happen at any time for any reason. It sucks, but it’s part of the deal.”

The GCW official also commented on reports saying that Effy’s referencing Shad Khan on his podcast saying ‘Brett doesn’t have a dad who pays him to stay away’ might have caused the rift between the promotions. He noted that Effy is also an independent contractor and his podcast is not related to GCW in any way.

Ricky Starks On Why He Can’t Be Grateful Just Having A Job

0

Ricky Starks has explained why he can’t be happy by just having a job.

The former FTW Champion finds himself in a precarious position with his current employers. AEW has not booked the 34-year-old in a match since March but they reportedly also extended his contract to stop him from entering free agency this year.

A lot of people think that Starks should just be grateful for having a job with the company still but the AEW star doesn’t seem to subscribe to this philosophy.

During a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ricky Starks talked about his All 2023 match with Bryan Danielson. While discussing the bout, the former champion recalled someone telling him that he should just be grateful for having a job:

“I’ll never forget someone telling me just be grateful that you even have a job. I remember someone being like, just be grateful we have a job. I’ll never forget feeling like, how dare you! Don’t tell me to be grateful for something that I’ve worked very hard for.”

You Don’t Live My Life: Ricky Starks

Starks explained that people don’t know how hard he’s worked for the opportunities he’s gotten. Anyone who hasn’t lived his life shouldn’t tell him to be grateful for anything:

“That’s saying I know that you’re hungry for dinner, here’s a half-eaten loaf of bread, actually no, let me take that back. Here’s just the crumbs. F*ck you. Don’t tell me just be grateful for something, you don’t live my life. You don’t understand the things that I have gone through to even just get in this moment. It really set me off.”

The AEW star also talked about his recent hiatus from the company. He said that being kept home during the prime of his career just throws you off. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

Eric Bischoff Crashes WWE NXT: ‘Next Week, I’m Coming to NXT’

0

Former WCW President Eric Bischoff has announced that he’ll be making the trip to Orlando for an in-person appearance at next week’s episode of NXT.

This week’s episode of the Black & Silver show featured Trick Williams in a segment where he talked about his upcoming Deadline title defence against Ridge Holland. Holland later came out to deliver some words of his own.

The segment didn’t end with just the two of them, however, and Eric Bischoff appeared on the Titan Tron to address both the stars. The wrestling veteran revealed that he’ll be attending next week’s episode of the show in person to test both the NXT talents:

“Now, Trick, you’re right. Things have been very chaotic in NXT, and I really enjoyed it. But next week, I want to get a closer look because next week, I’m coming to NXT.

Ridge, you want the NXT title so bad? Trick, you want to keep it, right? Well, we’re going to find out how bad. What makes both you guys tick? If you think tensions are high right now, by the time I’m done, you guys are going to want to destroy each other at Deadline. Hell, maybe right there in the room. See you next week.”

Ridge Holland originally won the title shot by defeating Andre Chase on the November 19 episode of the show. The loss not only cost Andre the title opportunity but his Chase U faction was also forced to disband after it.

The NXT Deadline event will be taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, December 7.

Roman Reigns Reveals If The Rock Match Is Still On Table

0

Roman Reigns says that the match with The Rock could still happen if the fans want it but they can also pivot things to a different direction if needed.

The Original Tribal Chief spoke to SI Media podcast recently to discuss a wide variety of topics including his status for the Raw Netflix premiere, his SummerSlam return, Paul Heyman’s recent behaviour, and a lot more.

When asked if the match with The Great One could still happen, the former Undisputed Champion explained that WWE is a company that always listens to fans. While they don’t let individuals dictate their programming, they work hard to satisfy the paying consumer in a way that enables the company to grow further:

“I think our fan base and the company’s proven that if our fans are loud enough and passionate enough about something [it’ll happen]. We’re a company who, we’re not being dictated to, and of course we have a vision for where we’re trying to go.

But we know who the consumers are, we know who’s paying their hard-earned money. We want to satisfy those people. But we have to do it in a regard that’s going to attract more eyes and bring more people in. Dwayne’s always going to be in that role. He’s always going to be a guy that just magnetizes and makes the broadcast even bigger. So if that’s the case and that the people want it.”

We Can Make Something Happen: Roman Reigns

The Final Boss showed up at Bad Blood last month to confirm that his story with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes is not over just yet. Though there have been conflicting reports on what the next chapter of this feud with look like. One source suggests that the appearance was not building toward the obvious Roman Reigns vs. The Rock match for WrestleMania 41.

The Tribal Chief seemingly referenced the uncertainty of plans concerning The Hollywood star discussing how WWE has developed many talents who can take the center stage if needed. Roman Reigns is not backing away from the fight however, if the People’s Champion is down for it:

“But that’s what’s cool is, man, we’ve had such a strong set of talent in our roster. Who would have thought that Cody could have had so much admiration that it could have broke up the plans of Tribal Chief vs. The People’s Champion.

That in its own right is pretty outstanding. It’s amazing. So I think that just kind of goes back to – Yeah there’s a lot of meat on the bone and if Dwayne can’t come in and just boom – this is how it is brother.

Then that’s when you know you’re cooking up with some really good ingredients. I think that’s what makes…that’s why he is tied in the way he is. That’s why he’s a part of the board and a part of everything the way he is. Because we’re at an unprecedented time right now. Business is great and we just want to continue to push things up. So if that’s what the people want, and the people’s champ is down – I’m sure we can make something happen.”

AEW Grand Slam: Australia Shifts to Smaller Venue In Brisbane

0

AEW Grand Slam: Australia, the promotion’s first-ever event in the country, will now take place from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Feb 15. In an email shared by ticket provider TICKETEK, the move was made official.

image 13

Grand Slam: Australia was announced during All In: London 2024 and was originally set to take place at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium. At this time, no matches have been confirmed for the pay-per-view.

While no official word has been given for the change, reports have come out that ticket sakes for Grand Slam: Australia have underperformed. In September, Dave Meltzer shared on Wrestling Observer Radio that sales were “not good” while Bryan Alvarez said that he’s heard similarly from “everyone” he’s spoken with from Australia.

Suncorp Stadium has a capacity of 52,500, while the Brisbane Entertainment Centre has a much smaller capacity of 13,601. This should make filling the arena a much easier task for AEW and lower the risk of embarrassing photos of throngs of empty seats, which have been shared on social media following multiple AEW TV events.

While AEW moving to the smaller venue is clearly not a step Tony Khan and his allies wanted to make, this is what all involved believe is the right course of action. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on AEW Grand Slam: Australia including breaking news and live results.

Roman Reigns Weighs In On Cody Rhodes Replacing The Rock

0

Cody Rhodes may have finished the story at WrestleMania 40, but Roman Reigns wasn’t concerned about seeing Rhodes replace The Rock in Philadelphia.

Shortly after his second Royal Rumble win, Rhodes suggested that, despite his mission since returning to WWE, he wouldn’t challenge Reigns at WrestleMania. Not only that, but Rhodes stepped aside to allow The Rock the chance, infuriating fans who felt like the popular babyface was being cast aside for the part-timer. The hostile reaction from fans would see WWE correct course and Cody choose to challenge Reigns in Philadelphia.

Reigns Vs. Rock is an unquestionable dream match but this was not the right time for such a contest. Speaking to SI Media, Roman admitted to not being concerned about whether it was his cousin or the American Nightmare who he faced.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I was the main event… I am the hot chick, everyone wanted to take me out.”

Instead of The Rock Vs. Roman Reigns, the two were allies on WrestleMania 40: Saturday where the pair defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The match saw Rock abuse his power as a member of TKO’s Board of Directors, ensuring that the official did exactly what was ordered by the ‘Final Boss.’

With WrestleMania 41 set to take place in April 2025, speculation continues to grow as to what role The Rock will play at the PLE. The Final Boss has already dismissed “bull***” reports that he won’t be at the event, with speculation growing of a potential triple threat with Rhodes and Reigns. Whatever comes in Las Vegas, fans can expect Roman Reigns in the main event, a spot that the OTC feels is rightfully his.

Gigi Dolin Returns To WWE NXT With Attack On Fatal Influence

0

Gigi Dolin made her long-awaited return during the latest episode of WWE NXT, and is back to war with former ally Jacy Jayne. In the show’s main event, Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley defended her NXT Women’s North American Championship against Tatum Paxley. After the match, Dolin returned and attacked the faction that consists fo Henley, Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx.

Dolin had been out of action since March with a knee injury and made her return to action last weekend at a NXT live event. She and Jayne competed as part of Toxic Attraction for years before Jayne turned on Dolin in February 2023.

Dolin’s return adds a new layer of intrigue to the NXT women’s division, which has gone from strength to strength in recent months. We’ve seen the arrival of top-tier talent including Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and most recently Zaria, all of whom have made an impact since debuting. Dolin isn’t the only recent return as Nikkita Lyons also made her return following an injury, exciting fans of the Lionness.

Now, Dolin is back and is ready to carve her own place in the stacked NXT women’s division. With Fatal Influence holding the NXT Women’s North American Champion, it may be just a matter of time before Gigi Dolin finds herself in a match with championship implications.

Roman Reigns Confirms Status For Raw’s Netflix Premiere

0

Roman Reigns has confirmed that he’ll be making an appearance at Raw’s Netflix premiere on January 6.

The Monday night show’s debut on the streaming platform is shaping up to be a PPV-level event with names such as Cody Rhodes, John Cena, CM Punk, and more being announced already.

The Tribal Chief was also asked about his status for the specific episode and beyond during a recent appearance on the SI Media podcast. Reigns confirmed that he is booked for the premiere:

“I’m not exactly sure. I’m just trying to get to the premiere. I’m on the premiere. I don’t think I can share too much more than that at this point.

I Completely Understand: Roman Reigns

With Netflix spending an average of $500 million per year for the 10-year deal, it’s not hard to imagine that the company would want to see WWE’s top names being featured on Raw including The Head of The Table. It won’t come easy however, as USA officials would like the current lineup for SmackDown to remain as it is.

Roman Reigns knows that he’ll be the subject of a tug-of-war between the two platforms. Though he is not giving anything away when it comes to his future appearances beyond the January 6 show. The former Undisputed champion claimed that they have not scheduled his dates beyond the show just yet:

“We haven’t scheduled my exact dates for going into WrestleMania from Rumble forward, but that is definitely a topic that has to be addressed. It’s an understandable one for the impact, the amount of money that is part of this deal.

I completely understand. These are all great problems to have. Nobody loves being in the tug of war more than me. It usually works out pretty good.”

The OG Tribal Chief will be leading the team of Sami Zayn, the Usos and CM Punk against Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline and Bronson Reed at the Survivor Series: WarGames event on November 30. There are a lot of moving parts in this story.

Fans believe Paul Heyman, who brought Punk into the fold might double-cross Roman for abandoning him after WrestleMania 40. There is also the possibility of The Final Boss making a surprise appearance like he did at Bad Blood.

Shawn Michaels Gets Physical On NXT After Backstage Brawl

Shawn Michaels showed that he is in charge after a chaotic segment on this week’s episode of NXT on the CW from the WWE Performance Center.

This week’s episode of the company’s development show featured a backstage segment with General Manager Ava. She addressed the individuals who have lost their Iron Survivor qualifying matches over the course of the last few weeks. She announced that all the competitors would get one more chance to make the PPV card in Last Chance matches for both women’s and men’s sides next week.

Eddy Thorpe who lost his qualifying match to one-half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer was not pleased with the announcement. A number of tag teams have come out to brawl with the current champions during his bout last week. The NXT star tried to argue that he only lost the match because of interference but Eva said that she had given him everything he wanted. As the General Manager tried to leave, Eddy grabbed her hand to keep the conversation going.

A fight broke out between Bronco Nima and Mark Coffey at the same time. Bronco shoved Coffey into the door which in turn knocked out Ava who was entering the medical area. Shawn Michaels and other officials quickly ran down to check on the authority figure. Michaels was not pleased when Thorpe tried to explain himself and the WWE Hall of Famer shoved the young star against a garage door.

NXT Deadline will be taking place from The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday, December 7. A total of 4 matches have been confirmed for the show till now. Apart from the Men’s and Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge matches, the event will feature Trick Williams defending the NXT title against Ridge Holland. Axiom and Nathan Frazer will also be defending the tag titles but their opponents are yet to be determined.

AEW Pulls Ricky Starks From GCW Appearances

0

Ricky Starks will no longer be making appearances for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), despite a recent setup for future involvement with the promotion.

Starks made a surprise appearance at a GCW event on Saturday, just hours before being backstage at AEW’s Full Gear. During the GCW show, he cut a promo referencing his frustrations with AEW, claiming he had been “frozen out” by the company. He interrupted GCW regular Jimmy Lloyd, who had mentioned Full Gear, and the two exchanged heated words. The segment ended with Starks laying Lloyd out with a DDT after being insulted, setting up a future match.

Starks has not been featured on AEW programming for months, despite repeatedly asserting that he is healthy and ready to wrestle. This led to speculation about his status within the company.

However, on Monday evening, GCW announced that Starks would no longer appear at several upcoming events, including the December 14 show in Los Angeles, an unannounced match on December 28 in Seattle, and another on January 19 at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

The announcement followed an interview Starks did with Chris Van Vliet earlier in the day, where he addressed his absence from AEW television. According to Fightful Select, sources within GCW confirmed that AEW made the decision to pull Starks from these appearances. The decision appears to be tied to recent comments made by GCW’s Effy regarding AEW President Tony Khan’s father, Shad Khan.

While some within AEW speculated that Starks was working his GCW appearance into a storyline, sources have confirmed that this was not the case.

Joe Hendry and Big Boom A.J. of the Costco Guys have shared their mutual respect after both went viral in pro wrestling in 2024. On X, it was shared that the pair had taken the #1 and #3 most-viewed wrestling clips on the platform this year. In response, Hendry pondered how he could top his surprise debut in NXT, which earned 18.7 million viewers, in 2025.

Big Boom A.J. and Big Justice’s debut on AEW Dynamite reached an impressive 10.8 million views and saw the pair appear ahead of A.J.’s match at the Full Gear kick-off show. In response, A.J. was honored to be a part of the list alongside the viral Scottish wrestler.

A.J.’s victory over QT Marshall marked his first match in years, but may not be his last on a major stage. A.J. has spoken to AEW higher-ups and is open to returning for a future match. Unfortunately for fans eager to see the Costco Guy bring the ‘boom,’ A.J. will first have to recover from a broken foot suffered last Saturday night.

As for Hendry, he remains one to watch, especially with reports that his TNA contract is set to expire in 2025. Hendry has also yet to capture the TNA World Championship, and most recently came up short at Bound for Glory thanks to the efforts of John Layfield. Many fans believe TNA needs to ‘pull the trigger’ on Hendry before it’s too late for all involved.

James A. Janisse, star of the popular YouTube channel Dead Meat, could be trading in Kill Counts and horror movies for suplexes and headlocks. Speaking during Dead Meat’s weekly livestream, Janisse gushed about his recent first visit to an independent wrestling show.

“I watched James Angel a.k.a James Willems perform, it was f***ing awesome!”

Willems, like Janisse, is known for his online content and spent years as part of the popular Rooster Teeth gaming subdivision FunHaus. After the show, Willems introduced Janisse to his trainer which may have lit a fire in the horror movie reviewer.

“I might do a little bit of wrestling training because my bucket list item is to have a wrestling match… I still got a little bit of time left at my age to get in there and do it once or twice.”

Dead Meat And Pro Wrestling

While Janisse has yet to step in the ring himself, he has interviewed several wrestlers about their favorite horror movies, including Liv Morgan, Chris Jericho, and Xavier Woods. Janisse and channel co-host Chelsea Rebecca also host an annual Royal Rumble in a WWE 2K video game, filling the ring with various fan-made recreations of iconic horror characters.

With over 6.5 million subscribers to the main Dead Meat channel, Janisse has a huge audience that’d support him if a match or two is in his future. With stars like Logan Paul, Bad Bunny, and Paul Walter Hauser impressing in the ring, don’t count out Janisse trying his hand in the ring, and attempting to make his opponents dead meat.
