During a recent trip to Asia, Kenny Omega took to the time to make some “new friends” before returning to America. This teased collaboration teased a developing relationship that could potentially benefit his promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Taking to social media, ‘The Best Bout Machine’ upload a tweet of him in front of the ONE Championship logo. Omega holds up his finger in the picture, which he accompanied with the following caption:
“Made some new friends before returning to America. You’ll probably see more of us in the future. #oneesportsgg #TNT #AEW“
For those unfamiliar with the promotion, ONCE Championship is a mixed-martial arts company based in Singapore. The promotion launched in 2011 and have signed a number of top Western talent to fight for them.
Despite ONE Championship’s MMA foundation, that’s not all the company provide. They are also involved in e-sports, which is what Kenny Omega’s tweet hints at with its ‘onesportsgg’ hashtag. It’s no secret that Omega is a huge video game fan. He has previously shared his aspirations for AEW to have its very own video game, calling it a top priority.
With that in mind, his announcement will more likely to be related to ONE’s e-sports division as opposed to seeing Omega accepting a fight.
