Rey Mysterio Will Retire When The Fans Decide He Should

It’ll be up to the fans to decide when Rey Mysterio will retire from the ring, according to the WWE Hall of Famer/former World Heavyweight Champion. This week, Mysterio reunited with Kurt Angle to watch their Saturday Night’s Main Event match from 2006, where the WrestleMania 22 opponents teamed with Randy Orton to face Triple H and John Cena. When Angle asked Kurt about his retirement plans, Mysterio shared that the final decision wasn’t up to him.

“Well, I’ll let the fans decide.”

Mysterio turned 50 years old this week and has spoken multiple times about retirement in the past. These include:

While Rey has spoken a lot about retiring, the masked legend signed a new five-year deal with WWE in late 2023, which should keep him with the promotion until the end of 2028. When that contract does expire, Mysterio will be 54, far past his previously planned retirement age.

Stau tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Rey Mysterio, as the Hall of Famer continues to carve his legacy in the ring before he hands up his boots and mask for good.
