AEW Star Rebel Reveals Lung Cancer Diagnosis

AEW personality Rebel (Tanea Brooks) has revealed she has been diagnosed with primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare form of lung cancer, following a year-long struggle with misidentified symptoms.

Rebel’s health crisis began in May 2024 when she was hospitalized after doctors discovered a lung mass. Initially diagnosed with pneumonia, she underwent surgery to remove a tumor and spent months recovering away from AEW television. Subsequent testing in 2025 revealed the correct diagnosis: primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare cancer affecting the lungs.

In an emotional statement shared across social media, Rebel opened up about her challenging journey. “This journey has been tough, but the love and encouragement from my fans and AEW family have been a source of strength,” she said.

The revelation explains Rebel’s prolonged absence from All Elite Wrestling programming throughout 2024 and into 2025. While she remains under contract with AEW, her return to television is uncertain as she focuses on treatment and recovery.

We at SEScoops join the family, friends, colleagues and fans wishing her all the best in this fight.
