AEW Star Pushes Back On ‘Injury-Prone’ Label Amid TV Absence

Rush wants it known that he is not hurt.

The former ROH World Champion responded on social media Sunday to speculation that he had been sidelined again. He says he has been properly injured only once in his AEW run.

During my time with AEW I have only been injured ONCE, and one time during Continental Classic I tweaked my knee and medical team advised I recover.

AEW’s own record complicates that claim: a knee injury in November 2025, confirmed on-air by Tony Khan, forced Rush out of his scheduled ROH World Championship match against Bandido at Final Battle and led him and Sammy Guevara to vacate the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

He pushed back hard on the idea that he breaks down easily.

I do my best to be part of every event, but any news you hear about injury prone is false. I even popped my elbow back in during a match to continue to perform.

Rush laid out his routine in Mexico, from gym and ring work to daily English lessons and tape study, and signed off with a message to fans.

Do not believe false narratives, EL TORO BLANCO is healthy and ready always, Monday to Monday.

He has not been on AEW television since July 1, when he beat Jordan Cruz at a Collision taping. He was left off the All In card on August 30 and put out a statement wishing his colleagues success.

His family situation is drawing attention too. Rush’s brothers Dragon Lee and Dralistico both have contracts expiring soon, per Bryan Alvarez, and they have trademarked the team name Hermanos Lee. Dragon Lee is in WWE. Dralistico, like Rush, is signed to AEW.
