Max Caster has not wrestled a single match for AEW this year. His contract runs out in a couple of months.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports Caster’s deal is set to expire around October. The outlet has not heard whether he and AEW have discussed an extension, and says he has not been backstage much in recent months.
His last AEW appearance was the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal on the December 17 Dynamite. Fightful reported in June that he remained under contract but was not factored into creative plans, and in April that he was neither injured nor in the doghouse.
He has kept working. Caster has been a regular on the independent circuit in the northeastern United States, appearing for Beyond Wrestling, Create A Pro, WrestlePro and Wrestling Open, where he faced Bobby Orlando on July 6.
The Acclaimed is where he made his name. Caster and Anthony Bowens won the AEW World Tag Team Championship together and added the Trios Titles alongside Billy Gunn. The team split in January 2025, and a reunion angle teased through the back half of that year was quietly dropped. Bowens joined The Opps in April.
The pairing has not been fully retired. Caster and Bowens worked a House of Glory show as The Acclaimed in March, on an independent card rather than AEW television.
Caster has been with AEW since 2020.
