Max Caster has spoken publicly for the first time since TNA cut ties with him over his Riyadh rap line at Bound for Glory. He accepts the consequences but won’t apologize for people being offended.
In an Instagram video, Caster started by thanking TNA President Carlos Silva. The two spoke in person, and Caster said Silva was generous even after the backlash. He said he understands the decision, since it’s Silva’s show and he has to protect TNA, and that Caster went too far for him.
Just to address all the TNA stuff, I wanna say thank you to Carlos Silva. I talked to him in person. He was very generous even after all this stuff happened. I understand why he did what he did. It’s his show, he’s gotta protect TNA, and I went too far for him.
Caster apologized to the TNA office and to anyone who vouched for him to get the spot, saying he feels he let them down. He thanked Moose for sharing his platform in his one TNA match, said he’s proud of that match, and said he’s sorry things ended the way they did.
So I wanna apologize to him, the office. I want to apologize to anyone who vouched for me to get that spot. I feel like I let those people down. Thank you to Moose for sharing your platform with me. I wish things didn’t turn out the way they did, but I’m proud of that match, and I’m sorry for how things have ended up.
On the rap itself, he said his raps are meant to entertain and never to offend. He said he can’t apologize for people being offended, but that upsetting people was never his intention. He added that if a segment gets a reaction, he feels he did his job, and that this one was highly talked about. But he said he accepts the consequences.
And for anyone who’s offended, I just want everyone to know that when I do these raps, it’s never to offend people. It’s only to entertain. So in my mind, it’s entertainment value first. If you’re offended by it, that’s your right. So I can’t apologize for anyone being offended. But just know that it’s not my intention to make people upset.
Caster said he’s doing fine but is embarrassed by how it all played out, since nobody wants to be fired after one match. He described it as the reality of the situation, said he’ll accept it and move on, and said he doesn’t know what comes next.
If it gets a reaction, I think I did my job. It was a very relevant part of the show and highly talked about, so I feel good about that. But the consequences of everything, I’m accepting that. I can accept that.
“And to anyone who is asking if I’m good, I’m good. I’m just embarrassed how all this happened. It’s, you know, you don’t want it to be one match, that’s it, you get fired. But again, that’s the reality of the situation. I’m accepting it. That’s life, and in life, sometimes you gotta man up and just accept it and move on. So, whatever’s next, I don’t know, but we’ll see. Thank you, everyone who has reached out.
