Chris Jericho's WWE Return Plans Revealed After AEW Comeback

Chris Jericho's potential return to WWE is now considered dead following his surprise comeback on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite. Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that those in the know believe Jericho is back with AEW for the long term.

The veteran superstar's return to AEW Dynamite this week effectively ended speculation about a WWE move that had been building in recent months. Meltzer's report indicates that the AEW return as a clear signal that any WWE negotiations have concluded.

WWE Plans for Jericho Scrapped

According to Meltzer's report, WWE had been considering bringing Jericho back to the company before his AEW return. The idea would be to bring him for a retirement tour, although opponents were not mentioned in the report.

Jericho last competed for WWE in 2018 before signing with AEW in 2019. He became one of the promotion's founding stars and has remained a central figure throughout AEW's existence.

Long-Term AEW Commitment Expected

The belief among those close to the situation is that Jericho's Wednesday night appearance signals a long-term commitment to AEW rather than a short-term arrangement.

Jericho's return comes at a time when AEW continues to build its roster and storylines heading into the spring season. His presence adds star power to the Dynamite lineup, including a confirmed appearance for next week's show.
