CJ Perry and Miro Barnyashev are going to be parents.
The couple, known to WWE fans as Lana and Rusev, told PEOPLE they are expecting a baby boy. Perry, 41, is due on April 28, 2027.
It has been a long road. Perry said last year that the couple was going through IVF, and she shared how it finally came together.
We started IVF in 2025, and on August 10, 2026, we had our embryo transfer. We were so nervous. We had to wait nine days for our first pregnancy test on August 19, followed by another on August 21 to confirm the pregnancy.
Those days felt like the longest of our lives! There was a lot of surrendering, letting go and trusting God through the uncertainty.
Perry said every stage of the process brought a new worry, from how many embryos would keep developing to the genetic testing results. Their first embryo to come back with normal results was a boy, and that was the one they transferred.
The first time we heard his heartbeat, I couldn’t stop giggling. I was so full of gratitude and joy. We’ve been blessed with such a miracle.
They have already picked a name, Bear Petrov Barnyashev, and Barnyashev explained where it came from.
Ten years ago, I had a vision of naming our son Bear, and we chose his middle name to honor my father. Bear will be his first grandson.
He also has big plans for the boy.
I’m excited for his future at Real Madrid! We have plans to move to Spain to enroll him in the Real Madrid Football Academy!
Barnyashev returned to WWE as Rusev in April 2025 after his AEW run as Miro, and Perry signed a WWE Legends deal. The two have been married since 2016.
We’re so excited and incredibly thankful. Miro and I have both always wanted to be parents, so being given this blessing fills our hearts with so much gratitude. After everything it took to get here, we can’t wait to meet our little boy.
