Reason Why Behind Recent WWE Title Change Revealed

Michin and B-Fab's Women's Tag Team title win was reportedly about stirring interest in the division, with WWE willing to move the belts around for now.

Michin and B-Fab’s title win may have been more about the division than about them.

The pair beat Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on the Oct. 23 SmackDown. Jade Cargill helped swing the match from their corner, and Michin finished Paxley with a Styles Clash.

Bliss and Paxley had only won the belts from Fatal Influence on Oct. 9, so their reign lasted 14 days. Asked about the quick switch in a Q&A, WrestleVotes said WWE is willing to move the titles around when the division lacks a central story.

They hot potato it a little bit. It’s one of those things where, creatively, they wanna kinda stimulate the tag team division and hot potato the tag team titles like that when there’s not a lot going on. It’s about drumming up a little bit more interest in the women’s tag team division.

Even if the change was about the bigger picture, it was a big moment for both women. It was Michin’s first title in WWE and the first championship of B-Fab’s career, and they reacted to the win after the show.
