Stephanie Vaquer wants fans to know that a quick video isn’t as quick as it looks.
On her Instagram Story, Vaquer shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp exchange in which a stranger, who said a producer had passed along the number, asked for a shoutout for his daughter’s school team. The recipient joked about whether to tell him off or just laugh.
Vaquer used it to make a bigger point.
It’s funny, but people don’t realize that sometimes we spend six or seven hours recording videos. That’s basically an entire day every week, and everyone thinks, ‘Making one video doesn’t cost you anything.'
Guys, this is part of my job. I’m not trying to be rude, but some people need to understand that, in my case, this is paid work and it’s regulated.
She added that she can’t simply record whatever is requested.
To make a video, I have to use my image, and for that, I need to ask for permission, which isn’t easy. That’s it.
Vaquer won back the Women’s World Championship in her hometown of Santiago in September before losing it to Liv Morgan at Money in the Bank on Oct. 10.
