Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt never got the reunion WWE once planned for them. Bliss says she eventually found a different kind of ending.
Bliss spoke about it with Brandi Rhodes on A Shot of Brandi while discussing her favorite Halloween costumes. She chose her dark Alice in Wonderland look, which she wore during their Firefly Fun House storyline, and the outfit brought back memories of working with Wyatt.
She explained that their last time together on WWE television was WrestleMania, when she turned on Wyatt during his match with Randy Orton. That wasn’t meant to be the end. WWE planned to bring them back together after that WrestleMania, but then Bliss learned she was pregnant, and Wyatt got sick and was out for a while. She compared it to ships in the night.
I never got to have that closure with Bray because the last time I was with him it was WrestleMania and I turned on him against Randy, and then we were supposed to join back together after this one WrestleMania, and then I found out I was pregnant.
She said one thing Wyatt said in an interview stayed with her: that the two of them would always be connected in some way. Bliss said that brought her a sense of comfort after his passing.
And then he had gotten sick and so he was out for a while, and so it just never, it was like ships in the night, right?
And he did that interview where he was like, ‘Well, Alexa and I will always be connected in some way.’ And I just felt like a sense of comfort.
Years later, Universal Orlando created a Bray Wyatt-inspired attraction for Halloween Horror Nights, and Bliss took part as a scare actor, including time in a Firefly Fun House setting where footage of Wyatt played on a television. She said the experience helped her close that chapter, and that it was one of the first times it really hit her that he was gone. She described it as her way of saying goodbye.
I felt like, I finally was able to close that chapter. Right, like it’s over. It’s over. It’s over. It’s done.
Wyatt passed away in August 2023, and the two never worked together again.
