EC3 has responded to the wave of concern that followed viral footage of his labored entrance at an ASW Canada show over the weekend, saying the clip does not reflect what fans think it does.
In a lengthy thread posted to X, EC3, whose real name is Michael Hutter, said the footage came from his second match of the day after a 4 a.m. wake-up, international travel, and multiple flights. He said the visible discomfort in his walk to the ring was intentional, calling it “selling an already tender leg” as part of the performance.
He went on to explain that travel disruption, altered sleep, and hydration changes can affect the body in ways that have nothing to do with injury or illness, and that maintaining low body fat for years can make his physique look noticeably different from one hour to the next.
EC3 said he is not interested in spending his time proving he is in shape, adding that his focus after two decades in the business is on the wrestlers he trains at Exodus Pro, his Cleveland-based promotion and training school.
Where The Concern Started
The reaction stemmed from footage published earlier Monday showing EC3 limping to the ring at an ASW Canada event, where he challenged Leon Lokombo for the promotion’s Heavyweight Championship. The clip spread widely on X, with fans reacting to his movement and physical condition.
EC3 did not address the footage directly point by point, but the thread marks his first public comment since the clip began circulating.
