Ethan Page is the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, but his reaction to the win may surprise you. By his own account, he feels almost nothing.
Page beat Chad Gable on the November 2 Raw to win the title. He appeared on WWE Now with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant and was asked how he felt.
He said it was a weird feeling. The Intercontinental Title was the ultimate goal, and getting there so early and so quickly has thrown off how he sees his future. He didn’t expect it to be easy to win, and he said it happened so fast that he feels he should reassess his goals.
Look, I feel weird. Mostly because this is the ultimate goal, and now that I’ve achieved it so early and so quickly, it’s skewed, I guess, my view of the future. I don’t know why I thought it would be so hard to obtain this, and then it happened so fast that I feel like I should reassess my goals.
That pattern comes up for him a lot in life, and he thinks it’s why he doesn’t feel much right now. He’s confident he’ll do something great again.
Which happens to me a lot in my life, and I think that’s why I feel nothing. Because I know it’s just, like, I’m gonna do something great again, I’m sure.
He also mentioned an interview he’d just done with Jackie Redmond. He told her it was sad that he never got to witness himself winning the title. In his view, that’s the core of the issue: he doesn’t get to enjoy the journey, because he’s the one dragging the cart behind him.

Actually, I just did an interview with Jackie (Redmond), and I gave her my thoughts, and I had said that it was extremely sad that I never got to witness myself actually win the Intercontinental Championship and I think that actually is the precipice of everything is I don’t actually get to enjoy the journey. I’m the one dragging the cart behind me, kind of thing.
