Former ECW Wrestler “The Equalizer” Paul Bykow Passes Away

Sad news has emerged from the wrestling world, as former ECW wrestler Paul Bykow, best known as The Equalizer, has passed away.

PWInsider first reported Bykow’s passing, which has since been confirmed in reports across the wrestling media. Details surrounding his death, including a cause of death, have not been made public.

Independent wrestler Tony Chini paid tribute to Bykow on social media, recalling that he had seen him a week earlier and reflecting on their friendship and time together in the ring.

Bykow was known to wrestling fans for his time in the original ECW as The Equalizer. During his run, he appeared as an on-screen bodyguard for manager Lance Wright and was associated with Danny Doring.

Following his time in ECW, Bykow continued to make appearances on the independent wrestling scene, including in New Jersey. His final recorded match was reportedly in 2013, while he was also said to have attended a recent GCW event in the state.
