First AEW Redemption Match Made Official After Surprise Return

An AEW Redemption match has been made official.

Tonight’s Dynamite Beach Break special featured a Casino Gauntlet match to determine the next challenger for Thekla’s Women’s World Title.

Willow Nightingale, who had been out of action since May 16 due to a shoulder injury, made her surprise return during this bout. Entering the match at #8, she delivered the Babe with the Power Bomb on Julia Hart to pick up the victory.

The Women’s Champion, who was on commentary for the bout, tried to ruin Nightingale’s moment by attacking her after the bell. As Thekla was about to hit Willow with the title belt, Mercedes Mone ran to the ring and took out both women.

Mone was accompanied by Divine Dominion, who took out Thekla’s Sisters of Sin on the ramp. The former Sasha Banks will challenge the reigning Women’s Champion at the All In PPV in August, after winning the Women’s Owen Cup for the second year in a row.

The first ever AEW Redemption PPV will take place from Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on July 26, 2026. The Women’s title match is the only bout confirmed for the event so far.
