A former WWE Universal Champion is reported to be in Minneapolis ahead of this weekend’s SummerSlam 2026 PLE.
He is none other than Kevin Owens. According to a report by Fightful Select, the Prize Fighter is in Minnesota, the site of SummerSlam, which takes place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Kevin Owens has been out of action since announcing his serious neck injury in January 2025. The former WWE United States Champion underwent surgery and has been on the road to recovery.
During this time, he has made only one televised WWE appearance. KO was in attendance for John Cena’s final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025. He was seen greeting Cena at ringside before the Never Seen 17 went to battle against Gunther.
On the other hand, Owens was also seen in a video congratulating Sami Zayn on winning the Undisputed WWE title at Night of Champions 2026. Moreover, Zayn is set to battle Finn Balor in a No.1 contender’s match for the title at SummerSlam 2026.
With his best friend, Kevin Owens, reportedly in Minneapolis, it seems that there is a possibility that he could make his presence felt in the match and help Zayn beat Balor. So, it will be interesting to see if KO does make an appearance at SummerSlam.
