Following the high of WWE WrestleMania 42, Joe Gacy and several others found themselves caught in a wave of talent releases. More than three months later, those names are now free agents, with some their of respective futures unclear.
As noted on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, that remains the case for Gacy himself, who noted that he was “feeling good” and motivated about his post-WWE life. His potential professional plans, however, require some further research first.
Well, from here, as soon as everything kind of went down, I tried to hit the ground running as quick as I could with what I’m allowed to do at the time,” he said. “So I just kind of took a day and started organizing some stuff and getting some things in order, but now it is time to get back out there. It’s been six years, I think, since I’ve been kind of out of the wrestling scene otherwise. So kind of reeducating myself on the state of independent wrestling, other companies wrestling. So yeah, I’m just ready to get back out there and get moving.”

Since leaving WWE, Gacy has returned to the independent wrestling scene for matches at REVOVLER and Atomic Legacy Wrestling. Under the latter banner, he and fellow former Wyatt Sicks member Dexter Lumis recently defeated Martin Stone and Ripper Zbyszko. Gacy, also a former WWE Tag Team Champion, is now performing in the ring as Joseph Sawyer.
