Joe Hendry Breaks Silence On WWE TV Absence

ByMike ReichlinProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Joe Hendry has addressed why he’s been off WWE television, and he’s keeping the explanation firmly in storyline. The former TNA World Champion hasn’t appeared since the May 25, 2026 episode of Raw, when Austin Theory wrote him off the show with a steel chair attack.

Speaking with the Toronto Sun, Hendry was introduced as someone expected to feature on Raw and WWE’s upcoming UK tour. He corrected that framing while staying in character.

I have to say, you said I’d be part of the UK tour, but right now I am healing up, my friend. I was attacked by Austin Theory, so you know, it is what it is,” Hendry said.

The angle played out during one of Hendry’s parody concert segments. While performing “Fire Logan Paul,” he drew the attention of Logan Paul’s camp, and Theory rushed the ring to blindside him with a chair before officials checked on him.

The timing interrupted real momentum. Hendry’s crossover from TNA and NXT had connected quickly with WWE crowds, with his entrance, catchphrase, and musical bits becoming regular highlights before the May beatdown took him off screen.

There is no announced return date for Hendry.
